**Kickoff:** Monday Apr 20, 2026 at 6:30 PM PT. Modus Design Labs, 1021 Government Street, Victoria, BC.
**Build window:** Monday Apr 20 at kickoff through Saturday Apr 25 at 11:00am PT.
**Submissions due:** Saturday Apr 25, 2026 at 11:00 AM PT.
**Demo and judging:** Saturday Apr 25, 2026, 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM PT. UVic Bob Wright Centre, Flury Hall B150.
**Winners announced:** Saturday Apr 25 at the demo event.
#### Eligibility
Open to participants age 18 and older. Open to all locations, all experience levels, solo or teams up to 2. In-person attendance at the Monday kickoff is strongly encouraged but not required. Saturday demo attendance in person is strongly encouraged. Remote presentation via video is permitted if a team cannot attend Saturday.
Participants under the age of majority in their jurisdiction are not eligible. Employees and immediate family members of BuildersVault organizers are not eligible for cash prizes.
#### Project and Submission Requirements
- Projects must address one of the two tracks
- Code must be built during the hackathon window, using any combination of open source libraries, AI platforms. Bring your own stack.
- Projects must include a working prototype, a public repository, a demo video (3 to 5 minutes), and a writeup
- Teams retain full ownership of their code and intellectual property
- Projects that replicate existing commercial products without a differentiated angle will not be eligible for cash prizes
- Submissions are due by Saturday Apr 25 at 11:00am PT. Late submissions will not be judged.
#### Code of Conduct
All participants, speakers, judges, sponsors, and volunteers agree to a zero-tolerance policy on harassment in any form. Respectful behavior is expected at the venue, in digital channels, and in all hackathon-related interactions. Violations result in removal from the event without refund.
